Data sources

The maps and most locations shown in VietRoute aren't collected by us - they come from the open projects below, along with the attribution each one requires us to display.

OpenStreetMap

The base map data and most locations (roads, landmarks, food, lodging, etc.) come from OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL).

OpenFreeMap

Maps are served through OpenFreeMap, a free map-tile service built on OpenStreetMap data.

MapLibre GL JS

The interactive map and animation in the “Create a journey” tool run on MapLibre GL JS (open source, BSD-3-Clause licensed).
